Golf in Spain

Spain is one of the world’s most popular golfing destinations because of its warm summer weather, world class courses, delicious cuisine and fine choice of restaurants, bars and tourist amenities.

With several of the courses located along the Mediterrainean and all of them with beautiful views, nobody has a setting quite like Spain when it comes to golf. From the lively tourist centres on the Costa Del Sol and Costa Blanca (Benidorm) to a taste of real Spain at Costa De La Luz and Costa Daurada, Spain offers a diverse choice of holidays and, as seen below, some of the world’s best courses.

There’s even the chance to head away from the mainland and enjoy golf on Gran Canaria or the  Balearic Islands.

Golf courses in Spain

You may be familiar with the golf courses at PGA Catalunya and Valderrama, two of the most famous courses in the world and the host of a number of thrilling professional golf tournaments such as the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama.

However, there is more to golf in Spain than these two courses. For example, head to Benidorm and you will find Levante and Poniente, which are both accessible from the stunning Melia Villaitana Resort complete with a fitness suite, spa, pools, six restaurants and spectacular views.

Or find the superb Las Americas course situated in Playa de Las Americas, the main tourist hub of Tenerife. The championship 18 hole course is a challenging test set in scenery that includes lakes and rivers, as well as spectacular mountainous land surrounding the course.
